Audience Testing
I have created a questionnaire in order to find out what people think of my magazine. I asked 10 people to answer my questionnaire.
1. Do you think that the name 'Musique' is an ideal name for a music/fashion magazine?
2. Do you think that the magazine relates to a pop genre of music?
3. What features of the magazine makes it look professional?
4. Does the front cover look genuine?
5. Does the contents page just inform, or does it make you want to read the rest of the magazine?
6. Does the article seem like a professional journalism piece? If not, which bits don't sound appropriate?
7. Does the layout of the article make you want to read it? If not, why?
Results:
Here are the results from my questionnaire.
Everyone that answered Question 1 said that the name 'Musique' was an appropriate name for a music/fashion magazine. They also said the name was very clever and unique.
Everyone that answered Question 2 said that my magazine relates to the pop genre.
For Question 3, the majority of answers for saying how my magazine looks professional were; images, photography, font, cover, colour scheme and layout.
Everyone that answered Question 4 said that my magazine looks genuine.
Everyone that answered Quesion 5 said that the contents page makes them want to read the rest of the magazine aswell as informing them.
Everyone that answered Question 6 said that the article seemed like a professional journalism piece.
Everyone that answered Question 7 said that the layout of the article/magazine made them want to read it. They also said that the layout was very clear and easy to understand and read.
From my questionnaire I have found out that my magazine fulfils my audiences expectations

Finished Magazine
Here is my finished double page spread:
I think that this front cover is very well structured, as all text is on the left hand side, with the questions highlighted in a different colour to the answers, making it easier for the reader to read. The photos are in black and white; a contrast to the brightly coloured text. I have also made the photo strip in order to allow readers to look at the band mates individually instead as all together. I have only included two more photos as I think anymore would have been too much.
Finished Magazine
Here is my first finshed contents page:
However, like the front cover, I decided to make a few alterations such as making the text smaller so that I could include more photos, to make it more eye catching.
Here is my final finished contents page: I have made the text a smaller size in order to make it possible to add more photos of the girl group. I think that this makes the contents page more eye catching and colourful.

Here is my first finished front cover page;
However, I decided to edit the front cover by adding more colour and rearranging things around in order to make it more eye catching. There was too much white space underneath the photo, and the writing was not able to stand out as much as I wanted it to.
Here is what I edited: I added a coloured box along the bottom to fill out the white space. I put a border around the circle to make it stand out more. I also made the quote shorter, rearranged the title, and made the main photo bigger and cover the page more.

Final Design
Here is my final design for my magazine. I have created it using Photoshop and InDesign.
I used Photoshop to edit the photos I took. I edited the photos by cropping them so that the images fitted onto the pages and so that I could cut out anything that wasn't necessary on my photos. I also edited the photos brightness as some photos were darker than others.
Once I had edited the photos, I then started to create my final magazine pages. I used InDesign because it is easy to use and enables me to do the things I wanted to include on my pages.
The front cover has a main photo of the girl group, followed by the title of the magazine, name of the band, date, price, barcode and strap lines. I used the same colour scheme as the front cover on my contents page and double page spread. I did this to create cohesion and to make the magazine all link together.
I used the text 'California' from the website 'DaFont' as I thought it was unique compared to normal fonts. I got my barcode from the internet.

Hand drawn mock ups
Here are my hand drawn mock ups for each page of my magazine;
These are only a rough guide as to how I will design the layout of my magazine, but will also help me get started with designing my final pages for my magazine.
